Panorama’s

I love shooting panoramas. Panorama’s capture large scenes that exceed a standard lens field of view. When stitching multiple photos together, you gain superior detail for large prints, perspective, and the ability to capture full views, without distortion. Post processing programs make stitching seamless. Most of the panoramas I shoot are while on vacation, I find that with a regular camera crop, I can never capture the image, the way my eye sees, it.

City skylines are a great way to use a panorama.

Landscape images are my go to for panorama’s but there are other Interesting ways shoot panoramas. Shooting pano’s with a large group of people, allows a different perspective than the usual 2 by 3 crop. Vertical panoramas are also a good solution when shooting landscape and architecture. Finally, try experimenting with close up panorama’s, this is something I have not done a lot of but I’ve seen some very intersting images with new perspectives.

Panorama’s allow the viewer to cover off large expanses of real estate, like in this image of Everest Base Camp

Crop in tight to highlight the main subject and cut out clutter or dead space.
